Pool Cleanup Day! Come help get the pool ready for the season on Saturday, May 18 from 10 am to 11 pm. Those who help will receive digital guest passes to use during the season. If you are able to bring rags or cleaning solution that would be most helpful.
Soft Opening! After clean up day on May 18, we will have a “soft open” for the pool. Board members will be available after clean up to pass out new member cards, 2024 stickers, and white key cards that were ordered. Please bring your ID and account number. Note that lifeguards will not be present and bathrooms will be locked until opening day at 3pm. No guests are permitted when lifeguards are not present.
Opening Day is Friday May 24!! Be sure to get your registration and payment complete so that you can join in on all the fun this season!! If you are unable to pick up your new member cards, stickers, or key cards on the 18th, you can do so anytime after May 24 at 3pm with the lifeguards. Again, please bring your ID and account number to speed up the process.
School’s (almost) Out Event!!! Get ready for some family summer fun on June 5 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at the PWIA pool!! Be on the lockout for an email where you can RSVP. This is a free event for all swim members. We hope to see you there! Thank you to our Friends of the Board for putting on this event for our community!
Are you a member not receiving PWIA emails? Contact Communications via the “Contact Us” tab on the right of the page. Under “Details” provide your full name, preferred email address, mailing address, whether you are a proprietary (resident) or association (swim only) member, and your member ID number (on your membership card).
PWIA Community Message Board ~ Do you have a child who is looking for some babysitting or dog walking jobs this summer? Do you have a service that you provide that you would like to advertise at the pool? This year, we will have a new bulletin board posted inside the gates of the pool where you can post a flyer. Flyers will need to be approved by the board before being posted (to check for appropriateness, no political affiliation, etc). There will be a folder at the front desk, so if you have something that you would like to post, please ask a lifeguard to put it aside for you. I know there are many in the community who would love to hire a babysitter, dog walker, or private swim instructor, so get your info out there!!
- Board of Directors
Board of Directors
Skye Gordineer, President
I’m in my third term on the PWIA Pool Board. Previously, I was Secretary, Director of Lifeguard Administration, Director of Operations, and I’m excited to serve as President this year. During the summer you can find me and my three kids in the pool as often as we can!
Bonnie Higley, Vice President of Membership
Hello! I’m new to the Board this year and hope to successfully be of service and help! My husband Aaron and I along with our six kids have lived in the neighborhood for 7 years now, and we still pinch ourselves at how blessed we are to be amongst such amazing people.
Matt Brock, Treasurer
I’ve lived in the neighborhood since 2006 and I believe our neighborhood pool is a gem in our community. I’m honored to be a part of the board that ensures it thrives for generations to come.
Angela Soares, Director of Lifeguard Administration
I moved into this wonderful neighborhood two summers ago and joining this pool was a highlight for my family. I’m originally from Boston and have lived in a handful of other places, but I’m thrilled to now call Doerr Park home. My kiddos Julian (5) and Vivian (3) had their best summer yet swimming in the pool, and we’re looking forward to making many more great memories for our family and yours.
Nawaf Al-Baghly, Director of Pool Operations
Hello there! My name is Nawaf, and I’m thrilled to be joining the PWIA board. I’m eager to contribute to improving our community pool and begin working on it this off season. We moved to our home on Custer about 2-1/2 years ago, and have felt a warm welcome ever since. I’ve really enjoyed each pool season since moving here, and I’m excited for an even better one next year!
Sheridan Corrales, Secretary
I am excited to be joining the PWIA pool board as our newest secretary. We moved into the neighborhood in 2021. I am a full time mom and teacher. I’ve been teaching elementary school for many years and LOVE spending time off in the summer at the pool with our two little ones. I am looking forward to helping out with community events and giving back to this amazing neighborhood community we already love so much!
Sarah Villalobos, Director of Communications
This is my fourth year on the board, serving my first two years as Director of Communications, last year as Director of Lifeguard Administration, and now back to Communications. (I just love GIFs!) I also started the Halloween and Winter Holiday Decorating Contests. I have lived in the neighborhood since 2015 and have 3 young boys. I enjoy working with the Board of Directors to help enhance and bring together the pool and neighborhood community. I look forward to seeing you at the pool this swim season.
Rebecca Crapo, Pool Manager
I am excited to return as the pool manager for my fourth year and look forward to seeing everyone this summer. I am originally from San Jose and have lived in Cambrian with my husband for the past 13 years. We have four kids who ask to swim every time it gets above 80 degrees, even in January.
